Lay the sheet of A4 paper in front of you longways, like a landscape painting, and cut a strip about 12cm (about 4 3/4") wide.

Now measure about 8cm ( roughly 3") in from one end and draw a line across the strip. Draw another line about 1cm (a little less than 1/2") further along. Do the same from the opposite end of the strip.

Now crease the innermost lines by folding the edges of the strip into the middle. Unfold the card and then do the same with the outer lines, except this time leave the edges folded into the middle.
