An Essential Kitchen skill in my mind is Blue Cheese Dressing, It can be used for so many things. Such as Burgers, Buffalo wings, salad, Fries and you can even get creative and figure out what else it pairs well with.

This dressing is probably the easiest thing i have ever made , and it tastes great. Im going to go ahead and say that it will taste better than any Store bought blue cheese dressing you have ever had.

So here we Go...

Step 1: Mason Jar

first off The mason jar is really important. If you don't put your dressing in a glass jar it will turn all watery and nasty, i don't really know why but it does trust me!

I can save a step here and save some residual dressing, too. I'm not sure how many people know this, but the blade attachment for standard blenders (not VitaMix or Ninja) fits the smaller-mouthed Mason jars. So just put the ingredients into the Mason jar in the first place, attach blades and blend. The only waste will be on the blades.

Liking this one a lot! The buttermilk hint is a good one, but I suggest not adding it until ready to use so that the dressing can be multipurpose, or adjusted to individual tastes. Garlic lovers (and people who need to ward off vampires) thank you!

Sounds yummy! Can it be kept in the fridge for a LNG time ( or will it go bad after xx weeks)?

I like the combo of bleu cheese and garlic as well, I mix them into cream cheese for a spread or burger topping. Your dressing sounds AWESOME but a little thick for my taste on salads (burgers or a sandwich it would be great) adding a little buttermilk will thin it and give an added bite. Thank you for sharing.

Yes it is a great combo, thats the beauty of a simple dressing you can add to it to suit your tastes without screwing it all up. Thanks for the input!

You seem like one of us who aren't afraid to experiment in the kitchen or tweak a recipe to suit your taste. My sister is a trained chef, I'm a kitchen experimenter, we were having a discussion the other day on facebook about a recipe she shared. OK I was teasing her about the unpronounceable terms and ingredients for what was basically an eggs with peppers and onions in tomato sauce when a cousin chimed in that if it isn't written in the recipe she doesn't do it. Unfortunately there are many like her who if the recipe calls for an ingredient they don't like, will use it anyway and then not like the dish, or, as in this case, not add liquid to thin it down or peppers to spice it up. I'm looking forward to more ideas from you to play around with !
