Hello Boys and Girls!
Here is a rack and pinion prototype I found stashed away in my closet. I originally had the intentions of making a drill press, but this was as far as the design ever came. I would love to see someone take this and make a drill press, but it has potential to be a ball machine element or something else.

I believe the pictures should be pretty self-explanatory.
I hope someone can use this and create something awesome!

Until text time

What does this do exactly?

i really like this.. i have a use in my mind but you would nee to change it majorly, due to size and lack of strength.

Nice work ksc.

Yes sir, I am :)
Neat.
Looking nice! :D
I can imagine a million other design spawning off of this, great stuff!
Cool model! I remember you mentioning it a long time ago, lol.
So the rack gets pushed along by the cogs? This could be useful for many things. BTW, its great to see you active again. =D
That actually is really pretty cool. It is kinda nice to see mechanisms like this as opposed to K'NEX guns and other random K'NEX stuff(s). I find that we K'NEXers tend to focus on guns now-a-days and forget that K'NEX were originally intended for roller-coasters and ball machines. I myself am guilty of this, but I can never seem to stop myself from building guns. I am so much of a gun enthusiast that I can't stop replicating... Maybe someday that will change... but not likely.
Nice!
Looks neat! I'd tamper with it if I had the time :-/
