Introduction: Knex Roller Coaster Station V2

About: On my page you'll find lots of different Knex projects, from ball machine lifts to useful items. I hope you enjoy!  _______________________ Current avatar: Target of my skeeball machine Past avatars...

This is version 2 of my roller coaster station, in standard pieces. It is in Screamin' Serpent style, instead of Vertical Vengeance style like the original. It's very basic, but it can always be modified to have a better roof, walkways, etc. It's meant to be added to your roller coaster, so the 2 outside strands of tubing don't have to be a certain length and end where the track ends. I just did that for looks :-).

Hope you like it!

Step 1: Parts List

Before we begin, let's gather all the parts we'll need.

Connectors:  153
dark gray-14
light gray-2
red-10
green-2
yellow-19
orange-36
white-2
purple-43
blue-14
crosstie-11

Rods:  163
green-9
white-42
blue-16
yellow-37
red-20
gray-39

Other:  144
blue spacer-20
silver spacer-30
red gear-5
small blue gear-1
Y-clip-23
tan clip-5
blue (metallic) clip-2
chain link-54
motor-1
3 pieces of tubing; the shorter piece should be 21 inches long (middle strand).
Screamin' Serpent cars

Total:  460

When you've gathered all of these pieces, it's time to move on to step two!

Step 2: The Front Section

This is the longest step; you'll build the front that holds the motor and gears. There are five parts; A,B,C,D, and E. After you build those, you'll combine all of them and finish the front.

Step 3: The Back

Build parts A and B, and then combine them.

Step 4: The Track

Don't worry about tubing or parts in this easy step. But try to space everything out like it is in the pictures.

Step 5: The Boarding Platform

The boarding platform consists of parts A and B. After those are built you'll combine them.

Step 6: Assembling Steps 2-5

Put steps 2-5 together to complete step 6.

Step 7: Tubing and Chain

Now you'll add the tubing and chain. Attach the middle strand of tubing first, and then the chain. After that you'll be able to put the two outside strands on.

Step 8: The Top

In this step you'll build the top and then attach it to the model.

Step 9: Finished!

You are now done with version 2 of my roller coaster station! Add it to a coaster, and have fun!

I used this on my coaster and showed how to build the coaster including the station but I gave you all the credit. I hope that's okay.

That's alright, thanks for building and including it in your coaster!

Would build if I had tubing and a coaster. (I have crossties)

i wish they still sold the original roller coaster sets and normal pieces rather than the bricks :'(

It was meant to be a basic coaster station. I could do better nowadays though, since this was posted over a year ago.

Your photography is spot on. Keep it up! I'd say more, but I've only mad a roller coaster once, and it was terrible.

Yeah, I'm not that great at roller coasters, either. My best one was destroyed by my sister before I could take pictures. It was called "Warzone", and these knex guns shot at the cars as they went by. It was actually pretty cool, I had a docking station in the middle where all the mechanics were located.

Thanks! I try to take the best photos in my Ibles. :-)

I can only build micro style coasters, not Screaming Serpent ones.

haha no worries im not too good with em either. i have to work on it sometime

I want a picture of it!

It was a piece of crap, I didn't want to embarrass myself by taking photos of it :-p
