Knex War Bomb

This is my Knex war bomb/explosive/grenade. As the name suggests, this is made For knex wars. It does not blow up in your face while you are making it, explodes violently and sends a lot of knex flying in many directions. Be sure to check out the video below to see it in action. I also added a video of me shooting it with a gun. Enjoy!

Step 1: Collect Pieces

The piece count for one bomb is:
Connectors:
Orange.....16
Yellow......16
White........2
Rods:
Yellow......16
Other:
8 Rubber bands. I used ones that were slightly smaller and thinner than #64 elastics, the standard thick ones.

Note to all builders of this epic device: do NOT put a rod down the center, secure it, then fire it from a gun using a rod to propel the ammo. The force makes it explode in the barrel.

Yeah. Had a little modded rifle (converted to pistol) that I secured about ten to fifteen bands of varying shape/sizes to. After a few hours, and a few broken grey rods later, I got it to work with all the bands attached. Of course, I wasn't thinking that all the pieces of this 'nade are in delicate balance, so I shoved the rod in the barrel and pulled the trigger.

Not a pleasant experience, and I'll just leave it at that.

i added a wire to it, and made a trip mine. I used it in a war that me and a friend had: i had a ton of traps, including the sipriani rifle v.3

theyre called 32 size rubber bands

They were larger that 32's but smaller than 64's... They were non-standard if I remember correctly.

It's very good, it mostly shoots shrapnel from out the top and bottom (left and right if hitting the floor), very directional. It's epic :)

How do you build this? Everytime I try to build a segment, the thing explodes. I try to put a finished one down but it explodes. I tried 20 times already and failed at all of them.

It really is a great grenade! I get a spread of about 20 feet every time! The only downside being that each grenade takes approx. 2-3 minutes to make.

Then you must phail, with a ph. My striker pistol shoots through 7 layers of cardboard, nice, clean and easy. Just go buy some more powerful bands.

i dont phail my town's stores do i had to go to saint louis to find some decent #64 bands but i am glad i found them there cause i made a sniper from some torn up guns i made before that actually shoots pretty good considering how noobish i am to making my own guns i can plan it out perfectly in my head but i suck at makin it plus i cant draw it cause it would look like a disfiggured person prolly and i cant use that knex gun making program cause it dosent do things i want it to do like i highlight some pieces looking at the gun from the front but it only lets me drag the ones in thr front soooooooo ya but i will never quit knex for 3 reasons 1. the dog that keeps comin  into my yard needs a rod up his *** 2. i like torturing ppl  that come into my house 3. i like makin my own guns and swords  and look at, then build, then modify other peoples creations like i mmodded a frag grenade to be a 'door stopper' if ya no wat i mean and i still need to post that dont worry i got permission

It could be either I suppose. I used a DD-27 made my Dsman. Just search it, it is indeed a good gun.

The rubber bands are pulling the rods together, so, when it hits the ground, the rubber bands pull all the way together. This, causes the rods to fly.

By the way, try replacing the yellow rods with blue rods and adding thicker bands. It make it more powerful (in my opinion) and makes it smaller.

Cross-snap a orange connector onto a white rod. Then, put a Dark grey connector on the white rod via the hole. Then, cross snap a dark grey connector onto the end of the white rod. Now you have a hinge.

Thanks! The mods.. not more power, but its easier to use and its more accurate. The picture shows a grey clip inside the handle to give the gun more accuracy. It works well!

Yesterday I made something like this that held 24 Splodies. It works extremely well and the entire thing explodes upon impact and has a ten metre blast radius. My five year old cousin threw it at my face and now I can barely type because I can hardly see the keyboard and my face has red marks all over it. No birthday presents for him...

Im not going to post the semi-auto. But i will post pics if i can find the camera i took the pics of it with :-(. And my battle rifle Will likley end up being posted, but not for a while yet. still working on the barrel. Im having problems. I will let you know when Ive got the barrel made, though.
