Introduction: Knex Gun Target

A target made up of LEGO and KNEX for low powered guns, eg. knex, rubberband, ect.

Step 1: Supplys

I have seen many knex guns, but all that the guns are fired at test power not accuracy. This Instructable will show you how to make a target out of knex and legos that will test accuracy.

For this project you will need:
4-360 connecting wheels
9-4 pin square lego blocks
2-red rods
4-135 connectors
4-90 connectors
6-180 connectors
24-short knex rods

Step 2: Frame Work

First, connect 2 of the 180s with a green rod. Plus put one on each end. Make 3 of these.

Step 3: Sides

On two of the frame pieces, attatch 90s to the small rods on the end. On one of the 90s, connect a small rod to it at a 90 to the framework.

Step 4: Center

On 1 360, connect small rods to every other slot. Then, on 2 360s, connect small rods in every other slot except 1. On the alst 1 do the same except leave 2 slots blank. Assemble by connecting every other slot that is empty to one that has a pin so that you get a square.

Step 5: Connecting the Major Parts

Connect the frame work pieces by attatching the 90s with no pin to the 180s with pins. Then put the center piece in the middle.

Step 6: Stand Base

Connect 2 of the 135s and the join them in parallel with a small rod. Connect in the gap of the body. In the photo it says "connect the red rods here".

Step 7: Stand It Up

Connect the red rods to the stand base. Then it will stand up.

Step 8: Setup for Firing

Insert the lego squares into the slots with the points facing up, down, left, and right.

Step 9: Shoot

Now try and knock out the lego squares with your gun.

Now that you know how to build it, you might think about making it bigger so it holds more legos. Or you could put cardboard behind it and remove the legos so you test power as well as accuracy. Or you could connect 4 squares together, make a larger one, and modify it so it holds the bigger squares. The possibilitys are endless.
