K'nex chaingun's/MG's ect.

attention to all people who have ben in Knex war's (any one else as well) do you find chaingun's effective?,is the rapid fire worth the loading time?, I just made a M249/Nerf Vulcan looking thing and I took apart my AK-47 and I want to know if it was worth it.

*Question to Knexers would you rather have a very effective non jamming MG,or a reliable single shot mag fed gun in to battle with?*

I prefer a rubberband gun with auto-reload, mine uses 1 motor and 1 rubberband, shoots 2 shots / second and has a range of over 8 feet ( not so far but still. ), magazin can be filled with 20 bullets, green or white tubes

Big problem, it's called the Dillon minigun, created by Ironman 69. Second one is the L96, created by Ironman69. Youtube knows jack spratt. They are around 5 years behind on there.

I used an old 90's WIRELESS (oh, yeah!) blender motor. The kind where you hold the button, and it whirls the blade! SO, I took off the blade, stripped off the plastic, and slipped some connectors on the steel dowel it uses. It shot about 10 a sec, but jammed like HELL!
IMG_1272.JPG
yerjoking says: Oct 28, 2008. 12:27 PM
I made a quick and easy chaingun, but it's not worth the loading, because you have to spen about 10 mins loading... Unless someone could make some sort of mech to reload all the guns on the belt with 1 move, I find mag fed or single shot guns more effective.
KILLERK in reply to yerjokingOct 28, 2008. 12:34 PM
if a chaingun was well made it could play a key role on the knex battlefield look at it like this the chain of ammunition is not to be reloaded during the battle the key is have enough preloaded shots to last the duration of the fight so if u had 3 chains with 50 or so shots with a rate of fire around 5 shots a sec this would be a very effective gun to have in a fight
ironman69 (author) in reply to KILLERKOct 28, 2008. 1:16 PM
I agree I did have a gun that shot (I AM NOT BLUFFING) 6-7 shots per sec (it used a new mech *Hint* the power source was rubberbands) anyway my new mech had a max of 25 shots the rebberbands could not tug any more weight than that at a high rate butthe gun was dismissed after 3 weeks of use because it was a pain to re-load but you would have to make a lot of belts with a max or 25 per belt one more question plz plz plz plz be honest was their really a MG you made?
DrWeird117 in reply to ironman69Dec 4, 2008. 10:44 PM
Mm-hm.... Then POST IT PLEASE!!!

thomaswatton in reply to KILLERKNov 18, 2008. 11:58 AM
Since you are like a master at knex guns please could you work on a chain gun which is effective but doesn't use loads of peices and has easy instructions or if you cant can someone else please!
yerjoking in reply to KILLERKOct 28, 2008. 2:20 PM
I respect you too, but I respect you as I do every other knexer, but I'm doubting you have a V2, not saying you don't, but if you're gonna make an MG make it like a small pistol with a chain, that way its small and easy to use but packs a punch.
ironman69 (author) in reply to KILLERKOct 28, 2008. 1:32 PM
cool I respect you but I will believe it when I see it

R E S P E C T... WHAT IT REALLY MEANS TO MEEEEE!
yerjoking in reply to KILLERKOct 28, 2008. 12:42 PM
Ahhh, but that would be piece consuming, but very effective, but you'd need a way to make the chains detatch and re-attatch easiy but still be strong...
KILLERK in reply to yerjokingOct 28, 2008. 1:31 PM
true i know of a way just curious what is a good range for a chaingun? heres what i think 99% of knex guns on this site can only accurately shoot around 25ft or so 25ft is about the stand off range of most knex battles so if a chain gun could shoot at least 25ft accurately w/ a decent rate of fire 3to5 rounds per sec in my opinion the gun is more than effective the key is having enough ammunition and a quick reloading of the chains
yerjoking in reply to yerjokingOct 28, 2008. 12:27 PM
The chaingun was ages ago and sucked*
ironman69 (author) in reply to yerjokingOct 29, 2008. 3:32 PM
the Knexecutioner was OK i built it but re-loading sucked!
yerjoking in reply to ironman69Oct 30, 2008. 8:46 AM
Yup, I didn't build it, but I think if you connected every ramrod on the chain (if it works like that) together with string, that way you could pull the string & that would pull every ram back, but then theres the loading...
Wafflicious says: Dec 3, 2008. 12:13 PM
id say the single shot, but only if mag holds more than 5 and can shoot farther (at least 1.5 times farther)
ky130 says: Nov 26, 2008. 9:23 AM
This is a really nice gun but this has been a dream of mine for a long time
!revenge! says: Nov 22, 2008. 11:02 AM
you could post it but i don't have a knex motor
yerjoking says: Nov 2, 2008. 6:10 AM
Meh, got bored, made my own crank, its 'bout the size of a pistol, 4 block triggs, no chain, when I get more pieces (I don't have alot of grey 1slot connectors, I use them for ammo) I'll make it a chain, I think crank chainguns are better, they never run out of ammo and can have a controlled rate of fire, plus they can be more powerful.
DrWeird117 in reply to yerjokingNov 9, 2008. 5:09 PM
NEVER RUN OUT OF AMMO?
yerjoking in reply to DrWeird117Nov 10, 2008. 8:34 AM
I meant it as it seems like they don't, 'cause chainguns can be very long.

you can make the ammo for the chaingun like killerk pistol mechanism than you've got a powerfull and fast gun (that i think it's good in a battle)

but a true full auto that uses some other mechanism would be cooler if you ask me
codemaster2590 says: Oct 28, 2008. 3:06 PM
i think it depends. If the chain gun shoots atleast 45 feet then yeah it would be worth building because all that would be needed would be a longer chain. On the other hand a single shot gun would be better if the chain gun was week and slow. Becasue you posted this does that mean that you are making an instruction for an awsome new gun design
Trauts says: Oct 28, 2008. 12:07 PM
The MG could prove to be very practical if it had a long chain, say 30 shots +, but for me it just doesn't have the range.
