Introduction: Knit Cuffs

About: Community Manager for Instructables and Tinkercad.

I wanted to knit something up that was quick and cute.  This is very simple knitting pattern and you only know how to knit and purl to do it.

You will need:
Yarn: I used Homespun (my favorite for scarves, hats, etc) in color Lagoon
Knitting Needles: size 15 or other big size
Big Buttons: 2 per cuff (matching optional) if they are too small they won't work well.
Plastic Canvas Needle for size 7 plastic canvas

Directions:
Start by casting on 12 stitches.
Row 1: knit
Row 2-?: Alternating knit purl.  Each row should end on a purl.
When you have it as long as you want it, I went until I could wrap it around my wrist so the ends would just touch without stretching it.  I wanted it to stretch around my wrist when it was done so it would be snug.
Knit the last row.
Cast off after knit row.

By alternating knit and purl, you get a nice ridge pattern so it's not just flat.

Hide your ends and grab your buttons.  Use some of your yarn and your needle and tie on your buttons on one end of the cuff.  Put them near the corners and close to the edge.

For the button holes, I just picked two spots near the corners of the other end of the cuff and just stretched the stitches a bit to form the holes.  This should work out well if you used big knitting needles since there will be bitter spaces.

Done.  Put them on and button them up :)
