Step 1: Numa Numa

Ah yes, the ol, numa. One of the most viewed videos in the world, with 700,000,000 views counting all videos. It is a video of Gary Brolsma dancing to the romainian song Dragostea din tei, with a webcam. First seen on newgrounds. Gary has become a very iconic character on the internet and he has appeard on good Good Morning America and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. He also appeard in a show on South Park in a episode starring other internet chacters. Gary made a new video called New Numa, but it doesn't even compare to the popularity of the original.

Hey, you got some factual information on rickroll wrong.  The admin on 4chan changed "egg" to "Duck" one day, so "Eggroll" became "Duckroll", which became a meme in which people linked to a picture of a duck on wheels.

Someone posted what appeared to be a duckroll, but it was a link to rick Astley's song, so that's how rickroll was started.

I always thought it started when somebody hacked the GTA:IV's website, and put that on there, but that  may be how it  got famous.
I'm not sure, though, and I may be (and probably am) wrong.

Actually I read that Rockstar game's website crashed due to the hype GTA4 produced, so someone claimed to post a link to a place that does not crash the site, which was really a rickroll link instead.
