video LAW Rocket Launcher Replica w/Flash Cotton Muzzle Blast [HD Video Tutorial]

This rocket launcher uses flash cotton (gun cotton, nitrocellulose) to simulate the muzzle blast of a real rocket. It is an excellent prop for home movies, or just a great addition to a Halloween costume. Needless to say, it should not be fired indoors or at other living creatures. Flash cotton does not usually cause burns to the skin, but that does not mean it never will. It does produce a real flame so it also should not be used in dry or flammable environments.

Flash cotton can be purchased many places online, or at local magic shops for quite reasonable prices.

The total price of this project was about $35.

Good job, but doesn't resemble a LAW rocket launcher in the slightest

A nice idea I thought of when looking at this was to add the NERF Titan AS-V1 missile launcher to the front and to have the fire part in the back. I would make it myself but I have too much homework. Maybe in the summer...
I am so exited to make one of thows thank you (-: (-: (-: (-: (-: (-: (-: (-: (-: (-:

The flash should be on the other side.

Yeah but what good is it there where you can't see it. This is meant for fun, not perfect realism. If you wanted to it would be no big deal to wire it the other way, or on both ends for that matter.
I'm thinking of making one of these but modifying the design to fire a model rocket engine from the front and have the gun cotton part in the back. Do you know if twelve volts will still work with two sections of nichrome wire?

A 6 volt battery should still work, but there will be a long delay of holding down the trigger before the wires get hot enough.
Okay, thanks for the info. I wanted to make sure before I tried. I'll post pictures/video when it's done.
That should have said six volts
AWESOME!!!
