Introduction: LED Earings

Hi Friends!

I would like to present my first instructable..."LED Earrings"

It is not really going to shine but will be a perfect example for "Best out of Waste" projects!

Usually in India,we decorate our houses using LED string during Diwali.I had a string which was not in a working condition.

Then I just thought, why not use them instead of dumping them in a garbage can. So I plucked a few LEDs from this string.

This is something weird yet beautiful...

So lets see the steps so that you can make your own for a cool party...!!!

Step 1: Materials Needed:

1.LEDs (usually the damaged ones)

2.Single stranded wire (10cm will be more than enough)

3.Pliers (To cut the wire and remove insulation)

4.Soldering Gun

5.Solder wire

6.Beautiful coloured beads

Step 2: Get Started...

Firstly, remove the insulation of the single stranded wire using pliers.

Then cut it into two equal parts.

Create curve by bending it.

It completely depends on you, what shape or size you prefer to wear...!!!

Create the curve in such a way that it should look just as the unit of Resistance (Ohm Ω)

Step 3: Work With LED

Its time to work with the LEDs

Select any two similar coloured LED.I chose the Green ones!

The one I have, has its Cathode(-ve) and Anode(+ve) pins broken to some extent.

Create a hoop by joining both Cathode and Anode pins.

Don't worry, its not going to blast off !!!

Step 4: Creating This Beautiful Pair

Take those both Ohm (Ω) shaped curves we created in Step 2 & put the hoop of LEDs in these curves.

Make sure both are of the same size...!!! If you have extra wire, just cut it off...!!!

In my first attempt,I made different sized earrings...Oh My God what a funny moment that was...!

So don't repeat my mistake...

Step 5: Soldering

Actually we don't need soldering to complicate this simple project...you can use a glue if you need...

I did soldering so that I can be sure that I won't loose it anywhere.

If you are using soldering method or glue, please ensure that the curve and the LED hoop are tightly bound...

When this is done, finally just sew the beads into the curve in a selected pattern to beautify it.

Then solder at the last, when the pattern is finished so that the beads don't come out the other way...

Step 6: You're Done...!!!

This is sort of interestingly geeky but on the other hand very beautiful.

I'm sure you'll love it...!

Have a Good Day...
