LED Lamp for Your Workspace/ Desktop/ Table...

The Black & White collection.

I wanted to make a led lap for my desktop area that you can also use for reading at night.
I have always like how Black and White compliment each other and have this distinct appeal that you can not miss.

For this project I used
*some laths(4 cm. wide, 5 mm thick) - free (left-over)
*12 white LED (3 mm.) ($2. 50)
*resistors (300 ohms), since my power supply is 8-9 volts. (5 cents)
*power jack (30 cents)
*switch (40 cents)

TOTAL COST: $3. 25

Paint:
black, white (I had some left from previous projects)

tools:
drill
drill bits
saw
mitre
sandpaper

Step 1: Materials and Preparation

Find the materials you need

Then you have to prepare your material. Calculate, measure and cut the wood, then sand it with sandpaper and wipe the debris with wet mop.
Use you saw and mitre to cut the "head" of the lamp at 45 degrees.
Use your drill and drill bits to drill holes for the LEDs, power jack and the switch.
Check the images for further instructions on how to do it.

Step 2: Painting.

If you are painting outside wait until the weather is calm, if it is windy it is better to wait or you will ruin your work.

Get the paint, line up the materials and paint one layer of the paint.
It is very important to wait until the paint is completely dry before you apply the second layer(if needed)

Advice. Always use protection when painting. I recommend using gloves and mask.

Step 3: Wiring

12 LEDs wired in parallel. One 300 ohms resistors connected to the + of each LED.

Step 4: Putting the Pieces Together

Get all the parts, your wood glue, a triangular and start gluing the parts.
Use the triangular to glue the top of the lamp to the stem, glue at 90 degrees.

Step 5: End Result

Congratulations, you have made something from nothing. It always amazes me how much you can do with some basic materials and a little imagination.
It is time to turn on the light, get a pen, and start scrabbling your next idea.
