This is my Cute little Lab Rat I designed and sell on etsy. It is mostly crocheted but the legs and tail are made using the Double Pointed Needles. Here is what you will need:
Caron Simply Soft White Yarn
Crochet Hook Size F-5
Double Pointed Needles Size 3
Albino Pink Safety Eye Size 6mm  (You can get these on-line on Etsy, just go to the seller:  6060  where I buy all my safety eyes)
Cluster Fluff-fiber Fill
1 Blunt Needle
Stitch Markers

Step 1: Head and Body

When you work this part you will be working from the Body to the Head.
SIZE: Stands 3inches tall, body is 2inches wide and 8inches long counting Tail.
St(s) = stitch(es)  Sc = single crochet  Ch = chain  Sc2tog = single crochet 2 together
Rnd = round   Beg = begin, beginning, Rep = repeat

Notes: Do not join rounds unless otherwise indicated. I crochet using the magic circle method you can go to YouTube type Crochet Magic Circle to see a video on how to make this stitch. If you prefer you can use the  ch 2. Work 6 sc in first ch pattern in place of the Magic Circle.
 BODY and HEAD :
Rnd 1: Make a Magic Circle with (6 sts). Place marker in first stitch for beg of round; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around - 12 sc.
Rnd 3: * Sc in next st, 2 sc in next st, rep from * around - 18 sc.
Rnd 4: * Sc in each of next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st, rep from * around - 24 sts.

Rnd 14: Sc around.
Rnd 15: Sc in each of next 2 sts, 2 sc in each of thr next 2 ch sps, sc in remaining sts. After this round stuff the body to your desired firmness.
Rnd 16-17: Sc around.
Rnd 18: Sc in each of next 2 sts, 2 Sc2tog 2 times, sc in remaining sts.
Rnd 19: Sc2tog around. After this round attach the Safety Eyes according to directions in round 18 use pictures as a guide. Stuff the head.
Rnd 20: Sc2tog 2 times. Fasten off leaving a long enough tail to sew the end to look like the end of the mouse’s nose, weave in end and to cover up any holes caused by the sc2tog.
I know I love this Rat I also love that they are using my Three Peas in a Pod for the Picture for the contest!!
