According to the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, fenugreek is a natural remedy that aids in lactation for breastfeeding mothers. Fenugreek seeds can be purchased online or found at South Asian grocery stores where they go by the name "methi seeds". This recipe is a natural and tasty way to increase caloric intake (recommended for breastfeeding mothers) whilst facilitating the production of breast milk. This smoothie recipe is easy and fast to prepare, which is especially helpful for busy breastfeeding mothers!

Step 1: Ingredients

2 frozen bananas

1/4 cup oats

2 tbsp peanut butter

1 tsp fenugreek (methi) seeds

2 tablespoon 100% cacao powder

1 cup almond, coconut, or soy milk

1/2 cup ice

pinch of cinnamon powder for garnish (optional)

Step 2: Preparation

Let fenugreek seeds and choice of milk come to boil, simmer for 5-7 minutes

Once cool strain and discard the seeds

Add fenugreek milk and remaining ingredients, except the ice, into belnder, blend until smooth

Add 1/2 cup of ice and blend again until smooth

Pour into cup and sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon on top (optional_

Enjoy with a thick straw or a spoon!
