Introduction: Lamp Made Out of 2177 Plastic Bottle Caps

           I made a lamp with a unique design, that spreads a nice, variouslight,in different colors.The lamp was made out of a lot of plastic bottle caps, 2177 to be exact.
           I begun from the idea of making a useful object, using recyclabe materials, that are available to everyone.
           I chose plastic bottle caps because it's easy to handle them, they let
light shine, and even though I knew I will be using a lot, the final product wasn't heavy.
Because of the caps small size, I could create, sticking one by one, interesting shapes, of different colors and intensities. This lamp offers a nice sensation both when it's on, due to the various light that it offers through the colors' games, and when it's off, making the place where it is more beautiful, being an environmental object.

    Awesome. I have a few questions about your project;
    1. How much time did it take to collect all the bottle caps? It's so many!
    2. In how much time did you build it?
    3. Did you make any sketches, or did you just build right from inspiration?

    Thank you !! Yes "It's so many! "...
    I was very satisfied when my family, my friends, classmates and others, helped me to collect all this bottle caps. The process took about one year, but of course it could have been much faster if I would have tried to collect the bottle caps from the recycle center.
    I've build it in about five days (6 hours/ day). It was a lot of funny moments...
    I've build it from my inspiration, the idea was to build a form which look like it was extracted from a cube (but at some points it was necessary to draw a few sketches to figure out how it will look).

    This is amazing. What an awesome use for bottlecaps. :)
