Introduction: Laser Cut Biker Patches | Biker Vest

About: Trotec Laser Canada provides laser engraving and laser cutting machines for processing a wide variety of materials. Cut, engrave and mark wood, paper, metal, acrylic, leather, stone, plastics and many more. ...

This week we're running wild with our laser cut twill with some amazing biker patches on our Speedy 300 laser cutting machine! Mimicking the awesome Sons of Anarchy, in this video we will show some great techniques on how to customize your own biker vest!

Step 1: Preparing the Twill

Lay two layers of twill on top of each other inside your laser. In this case we first placed a red twill sheet and then white on top of it. Some twill sheets have adhesive on the back which work better to glue the two sheets together.

Step 2: Kiss Cut

Adjust the settings on your Speedy 300 laser (80w) so that the power is set to 20 and the speed is set at 0.9. Then proceed to engrave the twill.

Step 3: Full Cut

Adjust the settings on your Speedy 300 laser so that the power is set to 70 and the speed is set at 1.0. Make sure you cut through both layers.

Step 4: Sealing the Layers

Remove the cover exposing the print of your fresh new custom made biker patch. To permanently seal the two layers together heat press them for 20 seconds at 350 º F.

I'm going to give you a heads up. Wearing a 3 piece patch says Your in an outlaw motorcycle club. Putting a location says you claim it as territory. People have been killed for for that by dominant clubs.

Thanks guys, we'll make sure not to ride out anywhere with it :)

I'd recommend making it into a single piece or even a 2 piece and not claim territory.

Also keep in mind that red and white is angels colors. And they might also take issue. Even wearing it out in a store might incur one of the me members to follow you home and have a talk with you.

2 piece ok but a 3 piece will get you into trouble. Nice 'ible though.
