Laser Flashlight Hack!!

Step 4 Extract the Laser Diode..

While all DVD burners are a bit different, they all rely on 2 rails that the laser assembly moves on. Remove all screws and do whatever it takes to free up the rails so the laser assembly slides off. Disconnect or cut and cabling and flat connectors.

laser is not under the lense its on the sides :)

kipkay i really need your help with this one cas i have everything done except the soldering... since i dont have a soldering iron or wahtever and dont know were to get one can i use a hot glue gun and use the heat from the metal on that>???? thanks much -johnnyboy

i got mine at radio shack for $10 and solder at Harbor Freight for real cheap, $1 i think

if you want a soldering iron, you can get them lots of places, walmart, radioshaq, online. just look.

at lowes you can buy one as low as 3 dollars or as high as 150 like mine ! ) i take to much pride in my productions so i use the expensive one

Yo , I dissassembled a DVD burner from a laptop pc , but there were two laser dials in there, pointing in the same direction with some reflectors , the one (laser) is a bit smaller than the other ,the bigger one has a "2F" marked in it ,whitch one should I use? Can anybody help please?
