surely this would technically count as a scarification or a branding, rather than a tattoo?
depending on how you treated it as it healed it could be permanent like a brand, or you could irrititate it during healing to cause raised scaring like in a scarification.

Yes, I'm wondering the same thing. I would imagine it depends on how high you have the laser power set. If you set it high enough it would be permanent, but it looks like the ones in the photo will last 3-4 months.
