Love to Sew Studio shows you how to shorten a pattern piece for sewing your own garments.
To shorten a pattern piece make a pleat at the place indicated on your pattern. Usually it will say "Lengthen or Shorten Here". At that line fold and make a pleat half the depth of the desired reduction. Example, if you need to shorten your pattern 1", your fold or pleat should be 1/2". Pin or tape in place.
