There is always that nagging feeling to me when I see LEGOs. I feel like I need to make something! If you like making things without real instructions on exactly how to do it. You should try making a lego painting.

Step 1: Painting

Before you begin, you need to select a painting. I picked starry night because I have a variety of colors, but pick paintings suited to your lego supply.

Step 2: Organize

First you want to organize your lego pieces. Separate the different sections of your painting. Sky colors, ground colors, and other bits and pieces.

Step 3: Base

If you have a big enough base to build a whole painting on, you can skip this step. This is for people who have either used their big base for another project that they just don't want to destroy, or they just don't have one. Lay all your bases upside down in the shape you want your painting to be. Then place flat 2x4 pieces on each crack. If they are bigger cracks or weird pieces, you can use different pieces to hold them together. Then cover the rest of the bottom with flat pieces to stabilize it.

Step 4: Begin

Take a section of your pieces and plot the outline of your first part. Do the same with your other sections. Leave a little leeway for changes later on in the model.

Step 5: Compare and Build

Compare your project to the painting and build in the rest. Add in any extra details you might've forgotten. Use different heights of pieces to show depth.
