Probably unwise to try with bayonet bulbs (UK standard) as it would be hard to get right and easy to short out the light socket. Reminds me of the method I was told to start a fire with a light socket and a pencil- if you're going to do this I'd suggest you make sure the light bulb will be attended at all times when in use!
