Light duty table made with parts from Home Depot table using 5 small Home Depot cardboard boxes, yard stick and duct tape. Meant for temporary use; nothing long term.
Step 1: Put boxes together
Step 2: Secure the yardstick
Step 3: Tape the top
Take the 5th Home Depot box and keep it flat. Tape the sides so that it can't open up and becomes one solid sheet of cardboard.
Step 4: Completed table
Secure the tabletop to the yardstick and the top of the boxes using duct tape on top and underneath.
The table is now complete. In this picture it is holding a laptop, keyboard and loaded caulking gun. The table sides can be used to hold items like book, paper, etc. Once again, this is meant for light duty, short term use, maybe a few months at most. It can be built quickly, easily and inexpensively until you have the time and money to build one from wood.
Ideas for modifications: used Gorilla Tape, add second yard stick to further reinforce the tabletop
