Lightbulb Salt and pepper shakers

I got my idea from here.
I liked his idea, but didn't really like the look of the black tape and soda cap. So I bought a couple of light sockets, scrapped some wire from an old CPU fan, hollowed out a couple of bulbs. Then I designed a stand to look somewhat like a light post and cut it out of 3/4 MDF (I had some scrap left from another project). For the shaker lids I used automotive button caps. They have a nice flange to allow the cap to pop inside and hold while the outside covers everything up nice while still allowing the bulbs to be screwed into the sockets.
If anyone likes it and wants to make one, let me know and I will do an instructable. My sister-in-law saw it and she wants one, so......

I drilled small holes in the top cap. I didn't have a bit small enouh to my liking so I just drilled 2 holes in the salt cap and 3 in the pepper cap. A torch-tip cleaning bit would be ideal for this, however I had to use the smallest bit I had available.
Works fine, although I like it as a decorative piece.

I have gone on this recycling light bulbs kick lately and I was just sitting in the kitchen the other day thinking it would be awesome to make salt and pepper shakers out of bulbs. The problem was I had no idea how to do it. Please make an instructable, it would be awesome.

An old 1x10 or 1x12 shelving board would be easier to work with, that thick MDF board is hard to cut with a jigsaw. If you have a scroll saw or bansaw then you could use whatever type of wood you want. I painted this as MDF is not very asthetically pleasing as bare wood is.
