Welcome! This instructable will teach you how to build a Liquid Alcohol Evaporator(LAE). I was inspired upon this project by a need for a nice little torch and seeing a semi-working prototype. I have came up with my own concept, but that's what got me started on this project. I would like to thank fozzy13 for the inspiration. Now let's start building our evaporator!

What is this "liquid Axe" of which you type?

When you turn the axe can upside down and spray, lot's of liquid comes out. It's extremely flammable and boosted my flame up to a foot long(True story)

So, Axe is an aerosol product?

That liquid is just alcohol, no real difference to the isopropyl.

Kiteman, he says that in step 1 item 7. Maybe it is propane, butane or so.
cmeacham98 (author) in reply to rimar2000Aug 17, 2012. 1:22 PM
It does have some propane and butane in it and it boosts the flame. It is optional.
rimar2000 in reply to cmeacham98Aug 18, 2012. 8:26 AM
Then you can use directly propane or butane. They come in can to fill lighters.

That's my point - he's adding the Axe as an extra ingredient, but it has no real effect.
cmeacham98 (author) in reply to KitemanAug 17, 2012. 1:21 PM
It does have an obvious affect. It makes an extremely hot flame that's foot long, compared to a few inches with just alcohol.
Kiteman in reply to cmeacham98Aug 17, 2012. 1:27 PM
In that case, you're getting dissolved propellant boiling out and driving the flame, which will also be why you get the varying output.

Maybe you could add a video. If done, please PM me.

Would you like a demo video or a tutorial?
rimar2000 in reply to cmeacham98Aug 18, 2012. 8:21 AM
Thanks for the offer, cmeacham98. Only a demo using it, please.
