String the laces underneath the eyelets. Cross the string to make an X. Then make another X. you can achieve this by twisting the strings 360 degrees. take the string on the left and put it through the left eyelet. take the string on the right and put it through the right eyelet.

I don't care who came up with it first, I found it here first... :)

I like what you did, it's not hard at all. Yet I wanted two-tone, So I doubled up the laces with contrasting colors.

Shoes are dirty and not Cons...

Is there a benefit to this?
Oct 20, 2009. 2:00 PMkenskila says:
I would think two:

provide additional friction from the additional string to string contact points resulting in reduced lace slippage, and;

increased mechanical advantage from the additional fulcrums or pivot points created when the string changes direction.

I've been using a modified form of this on the top few levels of hiking boots for years to fine tune and lock in the upper lace settings.

I will have to try this because I wear size 10 1/2 4E running shoe andif I need to tie it tight at the toes but I cannot tie it to tight atthe top of the shoe or it causes the top of my foot to hurt. Eventuallythe slack at the top moves down to the toe and the shoe becomes sloppyand the front and starts to hurt.

At first, it looked like a confusion of emotes and letters. lol

Awesome! I did this awhile back with different color laces (blue and orange). People kept saying "I like your shoes!" It was on skate shoes, which, like cons, are also great platforms for creativity.

hey i was thinking of doin this on my DCs did urs look good? and should i try it?
Oct 9, 2009. 7:39 PMjakerox43 says:
Mine, in many opinions, looked pretty good. They were on Reynolds, but I don't know what your DCs look like so I can't  tell how they would look. But definitely try. Shoe stores and sports stores and the Internet are your best bets for odd colored laces!

Ah, this does bring me back to the eighties... don't forget to interweave different color shoelaces (like white ones horizontal and black ones "vertical" for a nice checkerboard design)

Or forgo shoelaces altogether (remember Run DMC ... "My Adidas"...)
