  • 1 cup salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1-2 pound Salmon Filet


  1. Place a Salmon Filet skin down (unless it is skinless) in a plastic storage container.
  2. Mix salt and sugar together in a bowl.
  3. Pour all of the salt/sugar mixture over the entire salmon.
  4. Cover and store in the refrigerator for 3 days
  5. Remove from refrigerator. Rinse well under running water.
  6. Slice thinly
  7. Enjoy.

This is also called gravlax. It is not smoked but cured.

Sounds like a great recipe. Do you have any more pictures of the process. That always helps us beginner cooks.

I guess I could take some tomorrow. I will need to buy some more salmon first. Thank you for the feedback.
