MAKER FAIRE How To Cartoon in Photoshop

For all you Maker Faire folks that visited our booth (YouGizmos.com) and had a cartoon of you made, THANK YOU!

Now here is HOW we do it in 4 easy steps......keep on reading and follow each step. We used PHOTOSHOP for this one so be prepared.

Step 1 Get Your Camera Out

Now that you have your camera ready, get your subject to say "Cheese" and snap their photo. Before you do that, make sure you are in an area where there is not too much light and there is a nice contrast in the background. The more square or solid images you have in the background the easier it will be to color your picture in later.

wow nice thanks for the instructable , with photoshop its easier cause u dont have to draw all the lines on the person ,but i am gna try both ways and i ll show u the result soon thanks good one

Really like what you did with the road. How did you do that?

Nice job. I like it allot. Lines are very easy to draw in Illustrator because they now have the draw tool that will outline for you. But this particular one that you see above was in Photoshop. Thanks.

how do i turn the foreground into black and background to white? thanks

We wanted to give the POP art look to it.....so we went with the BRIGHT colors....

Try not to take this badly... I don't like the background colour...

The guy on the other hand, I think you did a great job there =)
