Picture of MHG-1
This is my MHG-1 (Masterdude Hand Gun model 1). It is not one of my semi-auto's, but a gun which uses a new trigger system which I have not used before (you asked for it you got it). The ammo is handle fed and it's firing pin powered so I could make it more compact. As you probably have noticed (first thing probably) is that it seems to have a hand guard, which it does, but it is also part of a new trigger I designed. Even if my previous guns seemed uninnovative, this gun should make it that you can't say that I don't innovate and do new stuff anymore.

More Instructables by Me

Pros:
  • True trigger
  • Handle fed magazine
  • Large ammo (well I like it)
  • Doesn't use too many pieces
  • Or rubberbands
  • Trigger is a hand guard
Cons:
  • Loading ammo can be tricky
  • Trigger can seem wierd to use at first

your welcome =D

I like this gun very nice. Could you make a new gun with breach loading and the firing pin not being so heavy?
Masterdude (author)  tytiger332 years ago
Thanks. Probably in the future I will, however right now I have many projects I plan to do.
Like what?

Good job. It's totally new.
Kind of. I made a handle-squeeze a little while back :P

Np.
well this is interesting... try a true semi auto like louis xiv's mech.
Noooooooo don't encourage twenty thousand of those to start popping up everywhere please T.T
Why get them breeding then then wait.I guarantee they will die off on their own when something better comes along.
I don't quite understand what you tried to say, there... All I'm saying is that we have like nine already and they're all very similar, so if a bunch of people start making generic ones then they'll lose what they have going for them >.>
Masterdude (author)  apples!!!!!2 years ago
Or they'll modify them and improve them. I think it would be good for others to try different mechs and try to improve them.
Lol. Do you know much about this community? For every one person that innovates, there are at least thirty who just stick a stock on the old design and say "omg guys look what I made". And they ALL get posted. This site becomes hugely dependant on trends, and it produces many more...unnecessary items than it should. I'm all for improvement, not starting another trend wave lol.
Masterdude (author)  apples!!!!!2 years ago
However even if there are some spam-like near-copies, as long as someone has posted a real improvement, the community overall has improved. As for those near-copies, one can just ignore them, most people probably do.
The people that will improve things will do it on their own, for the most part.
What I meant is get a bunch out there, then weed out the bad ones.
I've seen them and I think they are interesting. I probably will play around and see if I can improve them later, but now I'm busy with other projects.

I often over complicate things for fun, so I can appreciate where you went...but that's kind of overboard, in my opinion.
Masterdude (author)  apples!!!!!2 years ago
I don't think it's thaaaaat over complicated. It's not a rube goldberg type of mech. There were simpler mechs but this one was the one that could work with strong rubberbands being used (the stronger the rubberbands, the harder to pull the trigger normally, sometimes the trigger might break, but this one works very well).
I mean, honestly, there are much more compact triggers that work well. You might also want to try and move the block behind the magazine to improve it's function.
Masterdude (author)  apples!!!!!2 years ago
I know. My first K'nex I'ble had the most compact trigger mech of my K'nex guns. However I wanted to try something new which would work behind the magazine.
MewJadz2 years ago
Way too freaking complicated, can't even see it clearly.
Masterdude (author)  MewJadz2 years ago
Well, in essence, the mech is only 3 main components, the trigger, the firing pin stopper thing, and a part connecting the 2. While it may seem complex, it really isn't as complex as many popular K'nex guns, and it works well for a "freaking complicated" gun.
mulletman62 years ago
Made it - am yet to try firing it properly tho. Did try one shot, but the trigger was blocked by the rear gray connector that faces towards the firing pin
DJ Radio2 years ago
The trigger is way too overcomplicated. There are much more efficient ways to get what you were going for with this trigger. You don't even need the warning because mag directly in front of the trigger is weak. It's not gonna harm a fly.
Masterdude (author)  DJ Radio2 years ago
I tried simpler but for the requirements (able to work under much strain of strong rubberbands, true trigger, and behind the mag), this one worked the best of the one's I tried. As for the strength, it's got some, and while I also doubt that it (and the majority of K'nex guns, of course with some (very large and excessively strong) exceptions) would seriously hurt a person. As for the fly, if you had good enough aim to hit it, the fly would be dead.

Bleh, that trigger is actually stupid, no offence. It's a nice mechanism, but it's really efficient, and at the end of the day there's no point in having a complicated mech when a simple one works fine.
