“La Isla Bonita” (which translates to “The Beautiful Island”) was released in 1987 as the final single from Madonna’s third studio album, True Blue. Learn how to play it on piano with this tutorial!

Before Madonna recorded it, the song had been offered to Michael Jackson – and maybe he should have accepted the offer: For Madonna, the song became a huge hit! It reached #4 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and topped the charts in many countries (including Austria, Canada, France, Germany and Switzerland).

“La Isla Bonita” was Madonna’s first song with a Latino sound (if you pay attention, you can hear Cuban drums and a Spanish guitar!), and it became one of her most performed live songs.

While it’s not that easy to capture a Latino rhythm without the drums, we think our piano cover sounds pretty good! Make sure to check out the tutorial on our website - we have different versions for beginners and advanced piano players! Simply follow the link at the top of this description.

Our tutorials allow you to learn songs with a variety of functions - you can change the speed, focus on individual hands, transpose the song to different keys, you will get help with finger positions and the sustain pedal, and much more!

You can use all these features in our web player, and in our Apps (for both phones and tablets)!
