Thanks for the instructable! I have a cheapo chinese LED lite like this and I'm planning on making one of these. Seems like a better option than going through the trouble of making a case for it, plus, I get to use tools and not needle and thread! Haha

Nice Instructable - I'm going to use your PVC design to attach one on one of my workshop cabinets so that the lite will be handy. I like the XL50, but I wish Mag-Lite would have included a holster/pouch option.

I got a XL50 a while ago and pondered what I could use that didn't cost very much. I saw postings on other blogs, but didn't really like any of their ideas. I finally just picked up a NiteIze flashlight holder (usually used with mini-mags) from the local WalMart. I modified it for the XL50 - I removed the outer protection cover and it worked perfectly for the XL50.

Thanks for the extra advice - appears I'm going to be busy installing a few of these in the next few days.

I happened to show a printed copy of this instructable to some of our friends at the local cafe during breakfast this morning, so now I have to make 7 of them. All of the spouses want one mounted near the doors of our campers so the flashlights will be handy while camping. They all like the idea of the easy removal and replacement using the PVC clip. Thanks again!
