Magic Trick: Coin-Thru-Can

Magic Trick: Coin-Thru-Can
A friend taught me this a while back, and it never becomes dull!

Step 1Your Stuff

Your Stuff
Just an unopened canned beverage and a coin. Sometimes I find quarters a bit too big and clunky but any common coin will work (no half dollars or anything like that, thats just ridiculous)

Some variants you could do is after you "slam" the coin through the bottom, tilt the can lightly bottome up and hold the can from side and shake side to side while holding it up to your ear as if you are trying to hear it rattle back and forth. This will make it sound like the coin is rattling inside and will engage the audience in listening, just make sure you have the can tilted just enough to where it will lean against the can to where you don't need to hold you hand on the bottom to prevent it from falling out. Then palm the coin in one hand, then maneuver the thumb of the other hand to hold coin against can and hold the can with that thumb and a finger from the same hand and show the other hand, (the one it was palmed with) to show that you aren't palming it, and then switch hands, show the other hand, then maneuver it to the top like in this instructable, then after slipping it in the can while opening, hold it away while pouring it into a glass or the ground. You can even borrow a coin from someone and have them sign it, but if so, you might want to make sure the soda you are doing the trick with has a wide enough mouth for whatever coin you are using. I usually use quarters, so I would need a wider mouth can.

Sorry for the long comment, these are almost like Cris Angel's variants that I (try to, lol) use.

I've seen quite a few versions of the coin thru can effect but this is definately the best that doesn't use a gimmicked coin. Cool.

I feel I should point out two things:
1) Pouring the drink into the glass will not lead the audience to think that the performer was hiding a coin in his/her mouth (it's not the case, but will still affect the impact of the trick).
2) All US coins are poisonous. While they're not *deadly* poison, I'd still avoid drinking them, or drinking any acidic beverage that had coins in it.

That is all. Great trick, though.
