Picture of Magic duct tape wallet on roids
pic 4.JPG

Discovered this site a little while ago. I made a magic duct tape wallet about a week ago thanks to this great instructable duct tape magic wallet.

I liked it a lot, but still wanted a few more things so I constructed this beast of a wallet and decided to show others how I did it.

The wallet pictured holds: Driver's license, Credit/debit card, receipts, 512MB of flash memory, and also has a money clip.

Step 1: Tools and such

Picture of Tools and such

Materials needed:
-Duct tape
-sheet of paper
-scotch tape
-strong thin magnets
-thin cardboard
-Credit card USB flash memory card

Just one problem... MAGNETS!!? Ahhh!!! Hasn't anyone ever told you not to put magnets near a credit/debit card? No offense put don't do that. (Also the USB memory could get it...
Mythbusters debunked that myth
Really? Well I don't get much TV, so I wouldn't know. Thank you for informing me.
Why would anyone wanna have magnets near their credit/debit cards? You will probably degauss your cards!
And make the wearer radioactive, too!

thats cool maybe like incorporate a zip or something?
And the magnets don't screw with credit cards?
i bet those magnets do wonders for your usb.
actually, a flash drive isn't magnetic media, a magnet shouldn't affect it.

Awesome but the money clip might mess up the credit/debit card.

Where do you get a USB card like that? It's really neat. Awesome wallet BTW.
except wouldn't the money clip magnet mess up the USB flash drive and the credit cards?????
cowtipper977 years ago
anyone planning to make this i warn you it will destroy your credit/debit card
no it wont ive had some thing similar to this for a year and it hasn't broken (i prefer the normal wallet than a clip now tho)

tts a nice idea to have a flash drive put in there. but i think you could've used sheet magnets instead of those round chunky ones. just a suggestion! :D your baby's real cute!
der1311 (author)  lightafire7 years ago
I searched high and low for sheet magnets, but couldn't find any that were strong enough. So I settled on chunky round magnets.
oh! well, in tt case, i guess the chunky ones will do too! :D
flashdrive part = awesome
not bad. i like the random cool flashdrive :-)

I wouldn't feel happy about having magnets close to my cards all the time. Maybe a large paper clip, half of it secured inside the body of the wallet, would be a safer solution. Other than that, flash memory in a wallet is an awesome idea.
as the mythbusters have proven, it takes a powerful magnet to corrupt magnetic strips on cards.
