Introduction: Magnetic Chess Board Mount

About: I am an American teaching English at Shangluo University, Shaanxi. I like making machines that do interesting but fairly useless things - I call them Quixotic Machines.
Exercise Chess - play while you stand. Also, I thought it would be nice to be able to keep my chessboard out without taking up valuable desk space so I made a magnetic mount for the chessboard so I could put it on the refrigerator or mount it on a lazy-susan that I mounted on the wall.
My chessboard was a super cheap one and the magnets in the bases of the chess pieces were too weak to hold onto the board mounted on the wall so I had to replace them all with stronger ones of the same size.

4th photo:  shows magnets hot glued into some foam that was hot glued onto back of chess set board. Had to cover the magnets with some tape because if you don't, they will adhere to a metal surface so powerfully that it will be hard to remove the chess board from the metal surface.
