Magnetic Memo Board

Magnetic Memo Board

This is project #8 from 62 Projects to Make with a Dead Computer. Basically, I took the metal plate found as structural backing inside many modern keyboard and it is adorned with one of the transparent circuit sheets used to transmit key presses. For themed decorative magnets I took keyboard keys and hot glued rare earth magnets to the back. This is one of the simplest builds from the book and there is not too much to say about it other than it is highly functional and has a pleasing aesthetic.

I really like the computer key magnets! That would be fun on a refrigerator, to leave a note!

But it wouldn't be as much fun as receiving a neatly little wrapped box containing letters in it, such as Happy Mother's Day or Hello! ;-)
