Try to put the pieces together to make sure everything lines up properly. With the "dado" groove for the bottom shelf, the pieces should hold together to check alignment.

From the instructions, it looks like after he cut the outside pieces, the three inner pieces are cut in twos, with space between them, to simulate the elusive Dado. That's what I'm doing; I'm in the middle of cutting all the pieces. Wish me luck!
