Step 8Finish Edges of Exposed Cardboard.
In this step, I just cut strips of craft paper (actually a grocery bag) that fit the edge exactly. This is glued on and allowed to dry.

not sure what you mean: prepaint? If you mean a primer, I think I just painted it without any. It wouldn't hurt to use a primer, but it's not necessary.
