In this instructable I will show you you how to make a pair of gloves, these gloves can be used for just about anything, they can also be used as glove liners!

You will need:

Spandex (or some other stretchy material)

Marker

Scissors

Sewing machine (you could hand sew these but it would take a while)

Just stumbled on this site. Haven't look too deep into it though. http://www.glove.org/default.php It has some patterns intended for leather, but may not be the style your looking for.

What sort of thread did you use? Just normal thread or anything with a little stretch to it? :-D Can I use cotton thread?
CybergothiChe says: Mar 22, 2010. 4:43 AM
very nice :) very professional looking gloves too :) would you recommend any changes for making these out of non-stretchy material?
Icetigris says: Nov 22, 2010. 10:28 AM
You have to draft fourchettes and a thumb piece for anything other than spandex. I've used this pattern before for fabric gloves: http://www.glove.org/modern.php
Emsaid (author) says: Mar 28, 2010. 6:37 PM
just make them looser
PaHalloweenFreak says: Mar 11, 2010. 10:27 AM

Very cool idea!!  This is a great idea for formal ladies gloves that you would wear with a gown or costume, just make them longer.

johnnyappleseed says: Aug 8, 2010. 11:51 AM
I've always found that style to be quite sexy.

A last question, should I buy a 4 way or 2 way stretch direction ? I dont really know the difference so I need your help again ... and then I'll can make my gloves
Emsaid (author) says: Mar 12, 2010. 10:59 AM
I would buy a 4 way stretch
lejun says: Mar 12, 2010. 12:03 PM
What the difference between it ? And why does the 2 way is more expensive ?
And what's better, Cotton or Nylon ? I know I've got a lot of questions about it, but it will be my first gloves
Emsaid (author) says: Mar 12, 2010. 5:34 PM
the 2 way stretch only stretches two ways, so the 4 way will be stretchier, also i would go with the nylon because its stretchier and thats what we want
lejun says: Mar 13, 2010. 1:26 AM
Ok, so thank you for all
lejun says: Mar 13, 2010. 4:56 AM
I've just seen the price With the exportation in France, and it's too expensive for me, at this price, I prefer buy gloves at market ... Sad World ...

Try secondhand clothing shop/ thrift shop. Find something that is the correct fabric and cheap and use that (may be a stetchy womans skirt for example).
SirBrittanicvs says: Mar 13, 2010. 2:41 PM
Nice, I've been wondering about a good way to make gloves.
J-Manoo7 says: Mar 11, 2010. 7:24 PM
This would be great for ppl with missing fingers!!!
icemanartlover says: Mar 11, 2010. 4:58 PM
I have to try this, I have webbed hands, as in extra webbing between my fingers and missing knuckles on some fingers making some of the longer fingers on a standard hand shorter, Etc... I had a set of goatskin gloves custom made for $500 at one point, and ever since have modified my own, I love this idea

Thank you

I'm french, and I want to know how can I purchase some "Spandex" can anyone help me ?
ChrisCooper says: Mar 11, 2010. 8:06 AM
I think Spandex is a US trade name, the same fabric is called Lycra in Europe.
Emsaid (author) says: Mar 10, 2010. 12:59 PM
well i dont know if they have under armor in france, if they do thats the same stuff otherwise you can get it here: http://spandexworld.com/   there's alot of different choices and colors!
lejun says: Mar 11, 2010. 11:35 AM
Thanks you a lot, but now there's too much choice for me =P
mole1 says: Mar 10, 2010. 4:33 PM
This is great, especially for anyone with non standard hands. I need compression gloves, but those I've bought have been baggy. Thanks! Now I can make my own.
Kryptonite says: Mar 7, 2010. 1:18 AM
That's awesome! It's so simple but works so well, I love it! 5/5.

I would like to make a leather pair but don't really know how, sadly...

Personally tailored gloves?  Fits... fits like a glove!
halberdear says: Mar 7, 2010. 7:39 PM
seems like this type of fabric could get kind of unsettlingly annoying when it rubs up against itself or your short fingernails, i don't know about other people but i hate that kind of waxy feeling..*shudders*
Emsaid (author) says: Mar 8, 2010. 8:19 AM
doesn't bother me
halberdear says: Mar 8, 2010. 4:12 PM
strange, i wonder if im thinking of a different kind of fabric.
Musicman41 says: Mar 8, 2010. 5:33 PM
I really hate it when you touch a piece of nilon clothing with dirty hads.  *shudders even more*
mhdguy says: Mar 8, 2010. 9:26 AM
