Step 4Staple, Staple, and Staple Some More!

Staple, Staple, and Staple Some More!
To give your project a nice finished look, you'll want to begin with the bottom and top sides. You will need a piece of ribbon that is wide enough to wrap around the edge of the canvas so you can staple it good and tight on the front AND the back. When stapling the front portion of the ribbon to front of the canvas, keep your staples as close to the top edge of the ribbon. (if you're doing the bottom edge) or bottom of the ribbon (if you're doing the top edge)

Once you've wrapped the edges and stapled them down, over lap your next piece of ribbon over the front row of staples, stretch it out really tight over the staples so you can't see them and staple it into place. Continue stretching and stapling, stretching and stapling, stretching and stapling until you've covered your entire surface. (image 3 and 4)

If you staple like a girl, grab your hammer when you're completely finished stapling and hammer all your staples flat if necessary. (I had to, but I also didn't have an extra set of hands)

As a finishing touch, (completely optional) you can cover all the staples and the mounting screws with duct tape to just keep everything smooth and prevent anything from rubbing against your wall. (image 5)

That's it! Just hang it up (those Command Hooks work great for seasonal decorating) and hang your cards over the ribbon strips. Now you've got a tidy, attractive display for all of your holiday cards! You can even frame it if you choose!
