In this tutorial I am going to show you how to make your own speaker when its damaged and this can be made from scrap just we need CFL , magnets etc. to make this and we can make this run using an AUX cable.This is a scientific project and as the volume is not too much high you will need to run it on full volume or play it with radio that contains a nice amplifier.I may try to explain you the scientific reason behind this.Here's is a video of it working:-
Step 1: Things Required to Make This
For this to be made we need:-
- A cup made of paper in the last second step I would explain you to make it when not having a paper cup.
- Insulated copper wire (take it from old cfl or from ting-tong bell)
- Magnet(we can get it easily from market)
- AUX cable
- AUX cable port(get it from old radio)
- Duct tape
- Paper Sheets.
That's all we need for this.
Step 2: Making Coil
First of all take the insulated wire roll that out and with wires,make a coil of about 50 turns around a round object.Tie roll on the ends of the wires, to not make it messy.Make sure that the ends should be left 2-3 inches from the coil.Remove the insulation from the wire using a matchstick or a lighter.Tape it on the cup on its bottom
Step 3: Attaching the Magnet
Firstly place two rolls of paper on the cup and tape it to the cup just after the coil to make a gap between the magnet and the coil.And then place the magnet in about center of the coil and tape it .
Step 4: Making AUX Port
Join the two eds of the coil to the port's terminals and then solder them after removing the insulation.And then tape the port on the cup or join it using hot glue gun or epoxy.
Step 5: Done!
Just insert the AUX cable in the port and the other end in the mobile phone's headphone jack and play music at full volume or play it using a radio and listen to your favorite music .We can use the amplifier of the PC for loud sound and better sound.
Step 6: If You Don't Have a Cup
Then use the diaphragm of the old toy drum or something similar to that .This would work better than that of plastic cup and produce a loud sound as it vibrates faster .After making a cone from that and then flatten the end and repeat the same process as in that of the plastic cup.Enjoy the music!
Step 7: Working
In order to translate an electrical signal into an audible sound, speakers contain an electromagnet: a metal coil which creates a magnetic field when an electric current flows through it. This coil behaves much like a normal (permanent) magnet, with one particularly handy property: reversing the direction of the current in the coil flips the poles of the magnet.Inside a speaker, an electromagnet is placed in front of a permanent magnet. The permanent magnet is fixed firmly into position whereas the electromagnet is mobile. As pulses of electricity pass through the coil of the electromagnet, the direction of its magnetic field is rapidly changed. This means that it is in turn attracted to and repelled from the permanent magnet, vibrating back and forth.And this produces sound .Best of luck for your project! Please vote if you like!
