I had always wanted my own Teepee after watching "Dances with Wolves" ! They look so comfortable and are easily moved! Well I have quite a few dead cedar trees around my Log Home, so I decided to cut them down and make a Teepee of my own! Here is how I did it!

To start off you need a decent chain saw, I really like Huskys or Husquevarnas : 12" to 16 " bar chain saws. They are dependable, easy to use, and cut really well! A chain sharpening tool, chain tightening tool, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, gas & oil mix, chain bar oil, rag, some ropes, stakes, mallet, 2-3 plastic wedges, optional earplugs, (I don't like them, I want to hear stuff crashing from nearby, down on me), been there- done that ! I also like, but don't own those Kevlar chain stopping chaps or pants, face shield & ear muff- combo hard hat. They are nice, but I find them too restrictive to what is going on around me! Oh, yes, some cedar trees! Preferably dead, green cedar trees are too heavy and nice to cut down! Unless you have hundreds to chose from, I barely got 12 dead ones around my home!
