Yes, the little pan in the set is quite old and rather scratched. Cooking with teflon coated pans in general is not good for long term. However I go camping maybe 5 or so times a year and cooking on teflon does not worry me at all. I have cooked a fish on a stick and baked beans in the can many a time so the teflon would be the least of my worries. I obviously wouldn't cook some breakfast for someones kids in it however if one was that worried about it then I would advise to not use teflon at all. If it was really that bad though, why would people make pots and pans made of poison? At home I use only stainless steel pots and pans but when I camp ill use just about anything that gets hot =). French toast from a torch mmmmmmm good!
