Introduction: Make a Can Tab Bracelet

About: I realized that I'm kinda weird in a really fantabulous way.

Got a bunch can tabs laying around? Or just want to make a cool bracelet? Well, I'll tell you how.

Step 1: Step 1

First, get what you need.

I used about two feet of string and 22 can tabs.
You might need more or less, depending on your wrist size. I'm a tween so my wrist is small. Keep in mind the thickest part of your hand, since when it is finished you will be sliding it over that and don't want the bracelet to get stuck. It would be a good idea to have more string than you think you will need and extra can tabs. You want to make it big enough to slide on your wrist, but not to big so it doesn't fall off. You can also color your can tabs with a sharpie or paint them with nail polish. I found that the sharpie rubs off, so try putting clear nail polish over it.

Step 2: Step 2

First, take a can tab and your string. Put the ends of string in the holes of the tab (one end in each). Look at the picture to see how its supposed to go. Pull the ends of the string so they are even.

Step 3: Step 3

Take another can tab and, with the bottom part facing up,take the ends of the string and push them up through the holes.
Now, take the ends and put them through the top can tab's right side holes. It should look like the picture.

Step 4: Step 4

Put a tab next to the top one and put the ends through the holes. Lift the tab up a little bit and put the ends down and into the right half of the bottom tab. Look at the picture to see if you did it right.

Step 5: Step 5

Now put a tab under that and push the ends through it and up into the top right one.

Step 6: Step 6

Keep putting tabs on the top and bottom until it is long enough to fit on your wrist. Check its length by putting it around your wrist. If the two ends touch, add two or four more tabs so it's not too tight. If your string is elastic, you might not have to do this. Have an even amount of tabs on your bracelet because it will be easier to tie that way. If you ran out of string, try to tie some more on or whatever else you can think of. I sewed my ends together.

Step 7: Step 7

Tie the ends together and go show it off. Or, if it doesn't fit good give it too someone else. Mine didn't fit so I gave it to my little sister.
