Make a Headboard for your Bed

Have you ever felt like your bedroom was missing something?  Do you live in an apartment and can't paint the walls?  Try a headboard!!

Step 1: Materials

This is my first instructable, so be kind and help me out if you see any glaring mistakes!!

You will only need a few materials for this project:

Wood
Staple gun / Staples (3/8" long)
Hammer
Screwdriver
Screws
Nails
Batting
Fabric

I found a piece of 1/2 inch USB board at Home Depot in the "scrap area" (marked 75% off) and had them cut it to 5' x 2' for my queen size bed.  Also in the scrap area I found the least warped piece of   1" x 3" pine board and had them cut me two  2.5" sections for the legs.

I got a piece of batting and fabric that was 54" wide and 6 feet long.

Cost:
Fabric / batting- $23
Wood- $7
Nails, screws, staples- use what you have lying around

If you are a sewer, make the original with a simple cotton then You can whip up a cover whenever you want to change the fabric.

I adore the fact the wood was 75% off, and I really like your fabric choice. Very modern, you did a fine job, inspiring me to try something similar, but I may need to use a vinyl as it gets pretty messy at my house!
