Step 5Extra packages for Ubuntu
Use the Synaptic Package Manager, you can install PHP, MySQL, and other upgrades. If an installation failed, you can install any missing components with Synaptic. In some cases, you need to enable the Multiverse and Universe repositories. Use the Software Preferences to do this.
To install things with Synaptic, go to System>Synaptic Package Manager and a list of installable programs should appear. You can search for things you want, and easily install them by marking them for installation.
