Just to add some constructive criticism. -You need to use full stops and grammar more. -You pointing out the tank of LPG (gas) was sort of irrelevant. -In the "What You Need" section, you used all capitals. That's the internet equivalent of shouting down a phone line. Other than that, good instructable.

Duct tape, not duck tape
parpirate in reply to XOIIOAug 9, 2010. 1:50 PM
It's both actually. It was originally duck tape, used by the US military to keep water out of ammunition cases during WWII. Then it was discovered that it had other uses such as repairing heating ducting, hence duct tape.

no offence but Duck tape is a company duct tape is the actual item
junits15 in reply to XOIIOJul 23, 2010. 8:08 AM
no it actually is duck tape, it was dubbed that by the us military, because it behaved like a duck and could work on land and in water
steveastrouk in reply to XOIIOJul 23, 2010. 4:55 AM
Here its branded as "duck tape"

Well done Jonnybo111!, I love the way you can switch it back to a standard hat once fully hydrated, try and do that with duck/duck tape. ;)

I'm pretty sure that it's called tubing/tubes and not "pipes"
lemonie in reply to ERCCRE123Jul 24, 2010. 12:53 AM

OED defines "pipe" as 1 a tube of metal, plastic, wood, etc -

And that isn't gas, it's a propane tank.
PKM in reply to XOIIOJul 23, 2010. 8:11 AM
Jonny is UKinese- here "gas" means "not liquid or solid", the picture shows the sort of gas used in a gas barbecue. That stuff that goes in cars is called "petrol".

Why wouldn't you want duct tape?
jonnybo111 (author) in reply to techturtle2Jul 22, 2010. 12:08 PM
i wouldnt like duck tape because it makes it look less neat and spoils your hat ;D
steveastrouk in reply to techturtle2Jul 22, 2010. 12:06 PM
Its a tool for bodging ?
yoyology in reply to steveastroukJul 22, 2010. 4:58 PM
Being an ignorant Yank, I had to look up bodging. I read the entire Wikipedia article trying to figure out what duct tape had to do with turning chair legs in the woods.

Then, as I read to the end of the article, the penny dropped.

Your hat is serviceable, stylish, and well-constructed, young sir.  I tip my own hat to yours.
