Repeat steps 3 4 5 and 6, EXCEPT! Do not cut the small amount off one end of the top piece! Thats what makes it fit over the bottom piece.

Done that? Congratz! Your done! Now fit them together, this may take a little bit of bending and tweaking... But they should fit!
