Introduction: Make a Glasses Stand With Sugru
Sugru is a self-setting rubber for fixing, modifying and improving stuff. It molds like play-dough, bonds to almost anything and turns into a strong, flexible silicone rubber overnight. It comes in several colors, and is great for all sorts of things.
You may want a nice place to set your glasses at the end of a hard day. Let's make a stand for them with Sugru!
Sugru in the desired colors (You can mix colors if you like!)
Step 1: Open the Sugru
The Sugru comes in little metallic packets to help keep it fresh. There's dotted lines on each packet showing where to cut the packet open. Go ahead and cut open these three sides, peel the packet open, and scrape the sugru out.
Step 2: Knead and Mix the Sugru
Knead it up for about 30 seconds to get it activated. This is a good time to mix up different colors! Your working time with Sugru is only about 30 minutes, so don't take too long.
Step 3: Shape the Sugru
Form the Sugru into a flat surface a bit longer than your glasses are wide, and about an inch and a half wide. Mold in a pair of arms to hold up your glasses.
Step 4: Scrape the Sugru
So that it doesn't stay stuck to the surface you're working on, scrape up the stand and place it on a sheet of waxed paper.
Step 5: Let It Cure
Wait 12 hours, and it's ready to go!
