The Cheapest and Best Looking Way to Make an Airsoft Silencer

No, this will not make your airsoft gun more silent.
No, I do not recommend trying to do this on a real gun.
No, I am not going to be held responsible if you bring this into a public place and are shot for flaunting a weapon (Or so the cops thought).

how long is the PVC pipe
Hitman227 says: Nov 9, 2010. 2:06 PM
Nice gun. The pipe you used was 1/2 " if im correct right?
Dtm3 (author) in reply to Hitman227Jun 12, 2012. 8:33 AM
That's correct, however you are able to apply this concept to any diameter pipe to give the look of a larger suppressor, given that the weight of the setup stays attached to the airsoft gun.

Ok.

What kind of gun is that? Can you give me the link?
Dtm3 (author) in reply to thecatshat45Jun 12, 2012. 8:31 AM
It's a Colt 1911 type springer pistol. Although the one in the picture above is discontinued, you can find countless ones that look exactly the same. Provided is a link below.

Try looking at the airsoft gi website,
I don't live in america so i wouldn't know, our laws are different (yea no orange caps) but what i learned of some forms is airsoft gi is good for guns

This is extremely helpful, my sniper rifle is wayyyy to loud and keeps giving away my position. I plan to make this soon and if it works, then I can be a better sniper for my team. I was also wondering, if I add a thick paper towel, will it make the gun more silenced or not have any difference?

Pipe insulator is the magic word. The stuff works great!
Dtm3 (author) in reply to BuildermanJun 12, 2010. 7:37 PM
Sorry, but this does not help with the sound / loudness of your airsoft gun. Due to it's build, it's all "show." Since airsoft projectiles do not break the sound barrier, there would be no use in putting any kind of silencer on it to compensate for sound. However, there are a few tricks I've discovered that may help you with your noise issue... Try these: -Stuffing tissue paper or toilet paper into your rifle stock *IF IT'S HOLLOW* ~This helps because the piston in your rifle creates a small impact when it is fired, causing an echo to occur inside the stock of your rifle -Grease the internals (Make sure not to over-grease, and make sure they aren't going to rust) ~This helps because sometimes, gears, cocking mechanisms, and the piston make excessive noise Hope these helped.

Love your gun ! like the silencer too Im making one of these but more intricate Im going to drill holes through to make it look like a real silencer but add a sheet of Acetate Inside to not make the bb fly out

Glad you liked it. Let me know how yours turns out. I'd love to see your handiwork.
