you could link two sets of wireless house phones and then tap off the mic and speaker output and input

To make this work with Skype would be a violation of FCC rules regarding the FRS. Modifying FRS radios revokes your use of on FRS bands. I suggest anyone doing radio work look up the FCC rules and regulations on the service and bands before starting a project like this.
i think that any speaker would work as a mic if you plug a speaker into an amp and tap the speaker you will hear a sound

This might be an interesting concept, but it is an exceptionally bad idea to actually use. FRS radios broadcast in the clear; if you're having a private Skype conversation, anyone for miles around can tune in and hear every word you say.

this would work for skype except that you wouldnt be able to hear anything... so you should probably tape down both the talk buttons and put the microphone of the walkie talkie next to the computer's speakers

nvm: it's a great concept but cannot work for skype because you can't send your voice and recieve the other person's voice without having both talk buttons taped down, which blocks communication both ways. i suppose you could use 4 walkie talkies if you were that desperate
