Make an awesome Harry Potter wand from a sheet of paper and glue gun glue
Now that Harry Potter fever is upon us once more, I thought you would like to have a go at making some really nice Harry Potter Wands. This is such a simple but effective instructable. With a sheet of paper, some glue and a bit of paint, and about 40 minutes to spare this instructable will show you how you can make a Harry Potter type wand that would not look out of place in the film itself. I designed it and I have already made a load for my kids, even my girlfriend and her 18 year old daughter and her boyfriend wanted one each! For the frist few stages I have drawn pictures of what you have to do and then for the painting part I have taken photos to show you exactly what to do. It's very simple but the effect is fantastic. For more projects like this visit dadcando where there is more Harry Potter type wizarding projects and a load of other craft printables and templates.

If you like this but want more of a challenge which not try it with added magic in the instructable A really magic Harry Potter wand for Lumos and Reveal Your Secrets charms, you get to make a wand with a UV LED at the tip that can reveal secret and otherwise invisible writing. (But I'd try this one first to get the idea).

Also, can someone post please step by step how to make Dumbledore`s Wand (Elder Wand) Please. I tryed, but it sucks. See on that picture??? It has nothing to do with his wand. So please post.
Jul 29, 2009. 9:37 PMkenninggd says:
I did a "Elder Wand" myself and I used a air duster can to blow air into the hot glue. It makes a very cool effect. Hopefully this was helpful.

WOW man, that is awesome!!! how did you do that on surface like skull??? I know that I am asking a lot, but can you PLEASE post tutorial like this how to make that wand. you are gifted definitely. I and my family would really appreciate it. Thanx for everything, you are the best!!!

So I do the steps that are listed, but I ad a dowel as the core and more to the tip so it can be very solid. Then I Take a regular glue gun and go over the whole wand. I use a flat edge tool like a plastic knife and I frost it like a cake. I then make rings around the wand so i know where I want each pocked mark section. Now when you do any of these steps its wise to use a big fan and spin it in front to help cool the glue. I also use a small hand held fan. Once I do these steps I use a small glue gun and do the pocked marks in three sections. The base of each side and the middle. Once I lay the glue down I use an air can and slowly blow air into the glue. Don't do it to hard as it will cause the glue to go everywhere. REMEMBER to keep spinning the wand and do this for EVERY step. Once you blow the air can into the glue it cools fast, but I would still use the fan. Then once I have them all done I spray paint a base color of "October Brown" or whatever you want, and then paint the rest with acrylic paint. You caught me in the middle of making another "Elder Wand". So once it's done I'll post those pictures. I hope this was helpful. I have some pictures too. If you still have any questions please let me know. Thanks for the kind words about this wand. I'm sure my new one will look a lot better. Thanks.

Aug 17, 2009. 7:25 PMcorkish says:
hey, thanks for the the instructions, but I'm still kind of confused. What exactly do you mean when you say pock marked? And when you make the rings, is it using hot glue? Also, if it is glue, (hot glue) then how wide should the rings be? thanks again, oh and do you think you could also add some pictures to go with the instruction?
Aug 5, 2009. 1:32 PMAztof says:
sorry, but I tried blowing air on the glue, and could not achieve a pockmarked effect, and suggestions, and how did you do it? Thanks
Aug 2, 2009. 3:31 AMlordvoldemort says:
well, thank you very much, you are very cool person!!! i will try to make it thanx to you, but if i fail, i will give up, and ask someone to send me their wand, if they have one for gift (for me) :-) once again, thanx and i am waiting for new photos ;-)

can u do this without the glue gun? if yes then how? please answer....
Apr 28, 2012. 8:50 PMaskullpie says:
You can fill it with clay or paper and make the surface details out of modeling clay.
Jan 23, 2012. 4:00 PMTechnoDrop says:
Fully possible, though u have to be a bit creative = Every poor persons motto XD

Just experimenting a bit as of yet but stuffing the end with ripped tissue rolled into small tufts and then soaking it with glue to let it set (might have to press it a bit into shape though) seems to do the trick.

Of course you don't really end up with that smooth and nice rounded shape but it works.

naice..... :D shud luk gud. and what about the rolling part. mine gets all thick and stuff.. any way to deal wid dat??
